What's different here

  • Houston is home to the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical complex in the world — 60+ institutions and around 160,000 visitors a day. Hospital valet is an everyday transaction here: the posted fee goes to the parking operator, and a $2–5 tip to the attendant is separate. If volunteers staff a stand, they usually cannot accept tips — the sign at the stand is the authority.
  • Free parking is more common than in NYC or LA, but stadium parking costs $20–40.
