TipSnap ("tipsnap.app") is operated by Smartbee LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit our website. TipSnap is an informational website that provides tipping guides and etiquette resources. We do not require user accounts, logins, or payment information.

Information We Collect

Since TipSnap does not offer user accounts or process payments, we collect only limited information:

  • Usage Data: Standard web analytics data such as pages visited, referral sources, browser type, device type, and general geographic location (country/region level).

  • Log Data: Our hosting provider (Vercel) may collect server logs including IP addresses, access times, and pages requested.

Social Media Accounts

TipSnap runs accounts on Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads, and Facebook. When you comment on or reply to our posts there, the platform shares the comment text and your public profile information (such as your username and profile name) with us through its API, so that we can read and respond to it.

  • Automated processing: Comments may be processed automatically, including by an AI model, to draft replies and to hide spam or abusive comments.
  • What we keep: We store only minimal records: the comment's ID, the category we assigned to it (for example, question or spam), and a one-way hashed identifier for the account that posted it. We do not store comment text or names.
  • How long: These records are kept for 12 months and then deleted.
  • Platform policies: Your comments themselves stay on the platform and are governed by that platform's own privacy policy. You can delete them there at any time.

How We Use Your Information

  • To operate and maintain the website

  • To understand which of our social media posts bring visitors to the site and to our apps

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with third-party service providers (listed above) solely for the purposes of operating and improving the website. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Data Deletion

To request deletion of your data, email Smartbee LLC at [email protected] with the subject "Data deletion request". If your request concerns our social media accounts, include the platform and your username there so we can find the matching records.

When we receive your request, we delete:

  • All records linked to your social media account (comment IDs, assigned categories, and the hashed account identifier).
  • Any emails or other messages you have sent us, except where we must keep them to comply with the law.

We will confirm by email once deletion is complete, normally within 30 days. Comments you posted on a social media platform are controlled by that platform; you can delete them there directly. Analytics data held by Google Analytics is not linked to your name or account and is deleted automatically under its retention settings.

Children's Privacy

TipSnap is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
